I don’t even know how to write this review. From the beginning, the owner was accommodating and advised that we fly into Edmonton to pick up the RV. We were very interested in this RV and all it had to offer, so we changed our flights to fly into Edmonton. All was well. Shortly after, I had questions regarding our trip and the RV. This is where it all kind of went downhill. The owner of the RV typically took over a week and additional messages before he would reply. Because of the lack of communication, we considered cancelling the RV; however, due to the cancellation policy, we would’ve lost around half of our money because the refund policy for a full refund was to cancel within 24 hours of booking. Fine, we will make it work.On the day of pickup, we met the owner, who immediately stated, “I’ve been here for 2 hours” despite me messaging him 4 hours prior to let him know our flight was delayed. Again, no big deal. He showed us (quickly) how to operate the RV which was a little disconcerting as we were new to RVing. Still, my godsend of a husband had done plenty of research prior to the trip and he felt okay about operating the RV. We were handed the keys and sent on our way, none of the Outdoorsy paperwork completed or signed. Additionally, the owner requested communication via text message vs. the Outdoorsy app which should have been another red flag, as Outdoorsy states that any communication/transactions outside of the Outdoorsy app is not allowed and the owner would be banned; however, he still chose to communicate via text.Upon arrival at our first stop to pick up groceries, we discovered that there was no bedding, no pillows, no towels (towels were advertised on the listing). This would have been great to know as we traveled out of the country to complete this trip of a lifetime. We ended up spending $200 on bedding and towels. The mattress cover was stained with what looked like dried blood and appeared to have not been cleaned. Therefore, we didn’t feel comfortable using it. That night, we attempted to take a shower and the water was ICE COLD. In fact, the highest temperature it got to was 56 degrees F. We chose this RV for the convenience of having a hot shower to use after long days of hiking; however, despite having a hot water heater (advertised on the listing), the water was nowhere near hot. The water “pressure” was actually laughable. I could pour out a drink and have more water pressure than this shower did. We ended up having to purchase additional items to shower at the community bathhouses which is something we did NOT want to do, hence why we booked this RV.Despite the flaws, we made it work. We had a great trip (despite the RV). On the final day, we were attempting to empty the tanks and the key twisted inside the lock but did not break off. I notified the owner immediately and got no response. We delivered the RV back to the owner’s home, and headed for the airport. Of note, when we delivered the RV and keys, the key was INTACT but twisted. No communication from the owner. The next day, we were charged over $300 in damages – for the broken key (understandable), a broken compartment (stated the key was broken off into the door which we did NOT do), and an absurd amount of $200 to empty the tanks, stating he had to drive over 2 hours to the nearest campground (again, laughable. We stayed 10 mins from this man’s home and they would have no doubt accommodated his request to dump the tanks).Later in the day, we realized that we forgot our Park Pass (1 year) in the RV. I again messaged him to ask if he could mail it back to us. More silence. Upon landing, I messaged him again to follow up and he told me he WOULD NOT send the park pass back which we were going to use later in the year, ultimately stating, “I do not have the time for the run around.” He sent me ONE picture of the park pass (not even the front of the pass) and told me that will do. However, a simple google search would tell you that this is NOT an acceptable form of display and that you have to have a PHYSICAL park pass. So, ultimately, he has taken this from us. We spent $155 for a year pass to use multiple times. We even offered to pay for shipping to get this park pass back and he won’t do it.Overall, I would NOT recommend this RV or this seller. I could just be biased because of all of the issues that we had from the start, but I feel like these issues could’ve been resolved with better communication from the owner. Sorry this was a long review, but I needed to write a detailed review so others don’t go through what we did. Despite the RV downfalls, Canada was beautiful and we'd go back in a heartbeat.
