We drove Tuk into the Kananaskis for a couple of nights with our son and had a brilliant time. The van was well appointed, super cozy and everything worked well. We slept like babies and enjoyed the best coffee I’ve ever made. Rob and his wife were both lovely and helpful/responsive. Everything we hoped for when we booked several months ago. Great fun.

Rob seems to be a nice person and he does communicate promptly, however, this camper van is not in good enough shape to rent out anymore. The first complaint I have is that we booked this van on AirBnB six months prior to our arrival. My first message to Rob was to confirm that we would be adequately covered by insurance on AirBnB, which he reassured me would be fine. However, THREE weeks before our trip he told us that this was no longer the case and we were asked to switch to Outdoorsy for the booking. I was fine with switching over, but then we find out that our booking increased by over $240. Rob explained that his hands were tied and that he couldn't do much to decrease the price. I had to negotiate with Rob for him to offer us a free ride back to the airport, he did not offer it upfront. When we finally do arrive to the van we find out that there is a check-engine light on, Rob reassured us it's not something to worry about as it's just a sensor issue. This could be true, but when we did finally drive the van we started to question the mechanical condition of it all. Driving this van uphill was not fun, the car would shake and make a loud thumping noise which actually stopped us from going to two places we wanted to see in Jasper. When we asked Rob about it he told us he wasn't sure what the problem was, barely apologized for the inconvenience. The other issue is the main photo of this listing shows a ladder to climb up to the pop-up tent. We were surprised to find out that there was no ladder and it wasn't included. So to climb up there you need to step on a chair, then a side table, and then hoist yourself up. We were traveling with a senior and this was not a practical way for them to get up and down from there. Another issue was the main sliding door. The door was difficult to open/close and during our trip it stopped locking completely. So we had to leave our things and sleep in the van while it was unlocked, this didn't make my wife feel very safe. Also as the previous review mentioned, there are holes in the pop-up tent and almost no netting left to help ventilate. Overall I felt like Rob could have done a better job describing the van's actual condition and this van impacted our trip by not feeling very safe or mechanically sound. If you are going to rent out a vehicle that people use for a vacation the least you should do is make sure it feels safe to drive. I would not recommend this camper van in it's current state.

This renter damaged my sliding door so badly that it would no longer lock! He also must have drove it through some huge puddle or stream and caused the ignition system to arch. I fixed the ignition at my expense $474 but charged them $250 for their damage to the door. Next thing I know this scathing review is on my page. Why is it so hard for people to admit and pay for what they damage on other peoples property?? Tuk is a 20 year old VW it is loved and cared for. I have taken it on many thrilling adventures. The pop top has windows that zip open and close for ventilation When they are in the open position they do not have screens however all the lower windows do have screens for comfort and bug free enjoyment. Dear millennials please don't expect to shove a senior in the upper bunk!!! Have some respect. Getting in and out of the bunk is relatively easy for most people with average mobility. If you need a ladder please ask and we can include it, we usually omit it to leave more space for your gear.

Rob and his son were very helpful getting oriented with the van. The van is thoughtfully stocked with camping supplies and has about everything you’d need for an adventure. We encountered a couple of problems (leaky gas cap and dead battery) and he was responsive and super helpful. I’d give it a higher rating but the van is 20 years old and once you’re in it you’ll realize it’s age. The pictures of the van posted are a bit of a bait-and-switch - they do not accurately reflect its condition and they have to be at least 10 years old. For example, the pop up no longer has any screens and the canvas is quite moldy and needs to be jerry-rigged shut - and other wear-and-tear. The description says there’s toileting options (there isn’t) and though there are solar panels I don’t believe they are functional. Bottom line - the owner is great and the van served its function, but expect a 20 year vehicle (not the pictures posted). The Canadian Rockies are fantastic!

Rob and the Tuk Adventure Bus was a dream come true for our son who wanted to camp at Dinosaur Provincial for his 12th birthday. We camped in style. 5-star experience.

There is no better way to experience the beautiful Canadian Rockies than to see them in the Tuk. We had a blast pulling up to a campground and being admired by everyone around. Everything you need to have a great adventure is provided and I'd recommend talking to Rob about the best campsites to park. We wished we had another week and would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys life.

Everything was perfect. Spent 5 days traveling between banff and jasper and we couldnt of asked for a better vehicle to take! The compact size of the van makes it very easy to drive, but it is still big enough to fully live in! The bed was comfortable, kitchen worked perfect, theres a heater that runs when the car is off to keep you warm at night. I would recommend this to anyone for really any trip.

Had a great trip through the Rockies, the camper was great, only had small problems but rob was really helpful and quick to reply. Pefect size for a couple. Nice driving.

This camper is great! It's been well worn, but everything ran fine on our trip. There were two of us, and the camper provided plenty of space. Also, Rob is exceptionally friendly and accommodating!
