About the area: Bertha lives in the beautiful village of Saltaire, a heritage site. It is easily accessible by train, only 15 minute train journey from Leeds. We are on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with lots of countryside to explore locally. A bit further & you are in Northumberland, then Scotland! Also easy access to the east & west coast.Perfect position for exploring the North of the country.Description of Beds: Bertha has a fixed, double bed with a really comfortable memory foam mattress. The bed length is cleverly extended with ‘cut outs’ of the van wall at the head & foot of the bed, giving extra length.Description of Seating: Bertha is designed for two people, offering space & comfort. However, she can accommodate another couple of people for a social gathering!Description of Electrical Setup: Bertha is perfect for ‘off-grid’ trips. She has a solar panel on the roof to keep the batteries topped up. Taking the van out for a little drive will also keep the leisure batteries topped up. Bertha can also be ‘hooked up’ if the facility is available. There are ample sockets around the van with specific phone charging points by the bed & in the lounge/dining area. There is a variety of lighting around the van. Overhead, floor level, outside main door, reading lights over bed, light in the bathroom, individual battery lights to use if wanting to preserve the leisure battery length.Parking: Bertha lives on the drive, close to the house in a quiet cul-de-sac. If you come by car, that is where your car can stay while you are away. Though, don’t forget, we are very easily assessable by train too! Change at Leeds & it’s only another 15 minute train journey to Saltaire.Kitchen Facilities: Bertha’s kitchen is like a home from home. She has a three ring gas hob & an oven with a grill & two oven trays. There is a large sink, a fridge & lots of cupboard space. The cupboards are full of pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery, tin opener, cork screw, etc. And a kettle!Bathroom Facilities: Bertha has a self contained bathroom with a fixed shower & a portaloo. There is lighting, a fan & warm air from the heating blowing through! The water is heated through the central heating which is run on Liquid petroleum gas. The gas is really cheap & lasts ages.Audio Equipment: Bertha has a wall mounted TV/DVD player over the bed for cosy nights in. There is a selection of DVD’s for you to use or feel free to bring your own favourites.Type of Heating: The gas heating is very effective & easy to use. No need to be cold in Bertha! The LPG last ages & is very cheap. Not normally needing top up on one trip. The air vents allow the heat to access all areas of the van, not just in the main living anrea, allowing a warm bathroom & heat from under the bed. Very cosy.Pet Information: Bertha is happy to accommodate pets. There is ample access under the bed for large dogs to cosy up. Also space in the lounge/dining area.Conversion Story: Bertha made her transition from an office supplies van to a campervan back in 2021 when she was only 2!She was chosen specifically for her size to be spacious & to allow room for the bathroom, the fixed bed & the large garage. Her creator had converted two vans before Bertha. She was another labour of love & converted specifically to my wishes. How lucky was I?!About the Owner: Finding Bertha’s creator was pure luck. I found my perfect van online but it had already been sold! However, the owner contacted me & said he had enjoyed converting his previous two vans so much, he would like to do another & did I want him to do one for me? Err, yes!!!Have had lots of road trips & loads of fun, enjoyed music festivals, visited stately homes, been on dive weekends, cycling trips, days out. You name it!Quirky Campers is going to help me share the love! I always feel quilty when Bertha is sat, lonely on the drive! She should be out having fun even when I’m not available!!Extra Information: We can supply two peddle assisted push bikes to take on the the back of Bertha at a little extra cost. Ce qui est inclus• Kitchen/dining equipment/cooking utensils.
