Souvenirs de séjours avec les camping-car de Stace Bechtel

Stace was initially a very good host. He provided us with several videos of the vans essential operations. He answered all of our texts promptly. He was timely in meeting us to pick up the van and reviewed some of the inside instructions.
We got to our campsite and the next day tried to turn on the heat and the generator, but nothing would work. We reviewed the videos that he had sent us earlier and tried again. I called Stace and he had no idea how to remedy the problem. Thank goodness, we opted to buy the roadside assistance. They told us that the video Stace sent us about the propane switch was wrong, Stace had the switches turned around and said the up switch was off and the down switch was on… Wrong! This could’ve caused some serious problems with the van. We then tried to start the engine and it was dead. Stace had shown us how to jump it because “he said it had happened to another customer recently.“ Joe mentioned to him that it was probably an old battery and he should get a new one. So our first two days of our vacation was very stressful, no fault of our own.
After returning the van, I mentioned these problems to Stace and asked for a partial refund. He said he would think about it. He then texted me with this bogus $350 “add-ons“ $200 of that was dumping black water and gray water which we planned on doing before returning the van, but before we left on our vacation, he said “don’t worry I will do that at no charge because I want to winterize the van when you return it.“ The other part of that “add-on“ fee is unknown.
When we told him about the wrong propane video he sent us, he did not apologize, he just said “I guess I better change that video.“ All of these issues could have caused a lot of damage to the van at no fault of our own.
The Mercedes sprinter van is a luxury van and I hope others don’t have the same problems we did.
Sincerely, Carol and Joe

The whole experience from renting, using, and returning the van was flawless. Even when we managed to run the battery low and had Outdoorsy coordinate a tow company to come and jump start the van - amazing!!! So easy using the roadside service and getting help right away!

The van was comfy and met expectations. We were glad to have it because it rained a lot and had a few wicked wind storms during our trip. I usually tent camp or use my pop up camper but it’s out of commission at the moment. It was a real treat having a full bath in the camper! Everything worked as it should. We used the spare bed that lays across the front seats. I added a twin size foam topper and it was very cozy, but wouldn’t recommend for anyone over 5’4” tall. Loved all the screen options! Like the description states, the van is very low clearance so make sure you plan ahead for this!

Everything about this RV rental was great. The owner communicated in a timely and responsive manner. For us, the 6.2 ft indoor clearance was perfect, allowing us to walk around inside comfortably. We used the microwave and fridge. It also has an induction stove, indoor & outdoor shower, sink, and indoor toilet. The bed was very comfortable. The external automatic awning was excellent, providing great shade in the Colorado sun. We used the van as a "crew vehicle" to support runners at a local ultramarathon race. The solar power allowed for us not to be "plugged in" nor did we have to run the generator all the time. The custom shades for windshield and windows were very useful. The owner provided both a detailed walk through as well as great personal informational videos for the all the systems.

Everything was as advertised and more. The shades on the cab made a huge difference. I was pleased to average nearly 20mpg. Clear instructions from owner made it easy to acclimate.
