This was my first time using Outdoorsy or renting an RV. I didn't want a "Cruise America" logo because I didn't want to be quite as identifiable as a tourist. I stumbled across Outdoorsy and this custom black Mercedes RV, which I didn't even know existed. Long story short, at first the Outdoorsy platform felt a little weird, kind of disorganized with the way they book RV's and accept payments. I actually tried to rent another RV before meeting Kate and my funds were withdrawn and the trip was approved, but then I was notified the RV wasn't available. That was NOT the case with Kate and this RV. They were amazing, accommodating with pick up and drop off, and my family and I had a great trip. I say they because I met Henry as well as Kate. Kate coordinated the details and Henry helped with questions about the RV itself. Let me just say, this is a "cherry" ride. Safe, drives well, was SUPER easy to manage. More like driving a van. It is big, do not kid yourself, but it's on a Sprinter frame and very nimble. At any rate, it drives easy and I was intimidated at first but I'd say I was comfortable after about 2 hours. I suggest driving around a bit before getting on the freeway. Feel how it turns, the weight distribution, etc. I should mention, I was traveling with my family (my wife and three kids). My kids are 10, 9, and 9 months. We did not plan on nor did we actually sleep in the RV. However, we easily could have minus our 9 month old. We just aren't quite in a position right now to have the baby sleep so openly. He needs it quiet and also goes down at 7. We didn't want to be tiptoeing around in an RV trying to keep him asleep. But if it was just myself, wife, and the two kids we could have easily slept in it. Final analysis, it was awesome. We drove through CA, AZ, and NM. 14 days of family connection and bliss. Lost of room to keep collectables we found along the way. Way different than driving an escalade or something. There's room to roam and I won't tell you what it's like having a bathroom you can access without stopping. With kids, that's priceless. Frankly, that's priceless with my wife as well. The baby had a great time. They are two TV's but we couldn't figure out how to use them. I did set up a Nintendo Switch for my son on the back TV, but he really didn't use it much. Lots to see and lots of windows to see them in. It was a really cool experience for everyone. We have decided to purchase an RV ourselves now. I might go with a little bigger model, but the means of travel is completely worth it. Most importantly, thank you to Kate and Henry. We really appreciated you renting to us and all your help. I had never driven an RV so if you need just a little advice or encouragement, let me know. PSS, a deposit will be taken just prior to departure date. I didn't notice that until it happened. Then the deposit is returned about 7 days after your return the RV. (that just caught me off guard)
