Born on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii Surf Campers has been providing travelers a unique way to see and experience the island. In 2020 we expanded our adventures to another amazing and authentic destination, this is how California Surf Campers adventure began. We have a small fleet but got you covered. You can choose Vintage 70’s or 80’s for an old school adventure or in-house camper conversion for comfort and modernity.

We had the best experience with California surf campers!! I would highly highly recommend this company to anyone interested in renting a van for the weekend! They were so accommodating and easy going, making our rental experience so enjoyable and memorable! We absolutely loved renting maya for a few days and got so many compliments on her while we were out driving. We can’t wait for our next trip to San Diego so we can have another amazing experience as great as this one!

Booking was easy, I spoke with Thiago regarding some questions he answered fully without any hesitations. Pick up was a breeze as Enrique texted me with the address and gate code & a video to follow through the storage units to find him and Roxy. He went over converting the sofa to a bed, popping up the second bed area, radio, battery & outlet if needed, stove, sink, gas, the string of xmas lights was a nice touch. He stressed that Roxy will not speed and to treat her gently. She drove great, was slow on the inclines and better speeds on the downside. It was great experience all around. I am a terrible sleeper with body aches so I am sure others will be fine with the bed. I warmed a meal on the stove, but other than that I had friends who handled the cooking of all my meals. I would definitely rent from them again and try out Gracie

We had an awesome time in Maya (1976 VW Poptop). It's the coolest car in SD, and we had all sorts of folks wanting to chat about her. The fellows at California Surf Campers were all awesome to work with - they were flexible, friendly, helpful and communicative, and the whole process went super smoothly. Van was well-equipped and well-maintained. Can't wait to get down to SD again, and cruise around with our new friend Maya.

My girlfriend and I had such an amazing trip along the California coast with these campers. The company is great, and they are always willing to help, and they always care about your experience while renting the van, they know well their vehicles, good vibes and customer service. The camper vans are classic, they are clean, and they are remodeled offering you a fantastic camping experience on your adventure. Frankly, I can’t wait to do it again and I highly recommend it to anybody who is looking for this kind of experience with a company that is serious and has a great customer service.

Loved Gracie. And, the only issue was that the air conditioner did not work. Miserable driving in heat and humidity without a working air conditioner.

We apologize again Theresa. Unfortunately Grayce went for a few rentals before and no one mentioned a thing about the A/C. I also drove the van and didn't feel nothing unusual. I understand it was the very first trip in the hot weather and the A/C did't have enough power to chill the vehicle.
After Theresa mentioned that to me a quick recharge to the A/C solved the problem in less than 2 hours.

Don't think twice, BOOK YOUR TRIP! The gentlemen at California Surf Campers were beyond top notch and made everything effortless and enjoyable. Roxy was a total dream and the only problem is now we're completely hooked and plan to rent Gracie in August for our next adventure! Their team genuinely cared about our experience and provided unexpected perks/amenities and were incredibly responsive (even when we had questions while on our trip). They took the overall experience to the next level and counting the days until we get to create more memories in one of their stellar vans!

We loved this van so much and had the best renting experience! Henrique was so helpful in answering any questions we had and even let us pick up the van a little earlier to fit with our plans. Roxy is even better than we could’ve imagined. It drove really well and we had no issues at all. Even came with bedding, kitchenware, and we were able to charge our phones in the van which was an unexpected bonus! Definitely highly recommend renting from Henrique, we have no complaints at all!
