Initial help, poor issue resolution

David was welcoming, responsive, and flexible for some. However, he did not disclose critical issues (no working propane/onboard generator) until pickup, and failed to follow up on promised post-rental refunds.

Drives well, but systems unreliable

Guests found it easy to drive with comfortable seats and working AC (though loud). However, major issues included no working propane/onboard generator, beat-up exterior, failing DIY interior, and ineffective cab AC.

Great first RV experience! This was my first time ever renting or driving an RV, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Overall, I had a really great experience with the Greyhawk! Once I got the hang of driving it, it was surprisingly easy to drive, and the seats were really comfortable. There was quite a bit of rattling while driving, but that’s probably to be expected with an older RV. We stayed three nights at three different RV parks, so I got a crash course in hooking up and unhooking everything! The water system was probably the most confusing part for me. Even though we were hooked up to city water, for some reason the RV was still using the pump. David was able to fill the fresh water tank for us, though, so we had hot and cold water the whole trip. We also happened to take the RV during a very hot and smoky stretch of weather, so we spent a lot more time inside than we originally planned. The A/C worked great, although it is pretty loud. Honestly, though, when it’s that hot outside, I was just happy to have good A/C! The one thing I would recommend for future renters is having some written instructions for the different RV systems and hookups. For someone who has never used an RV before, a simple guide for the water, electrical, sewer, etc. would make things a lot easier and take some of the guesswork out of it. Overall, I had a great first RV experience! The Greyhawk was comfortable and had pretty much everything we needed for our three-day trip. I learned a lot and would definitely rent an RV again!

David was an awesome host! He was incredibly welcoming, quick to respond to questions, and highly flexible with my schedule changes. The RV was absolutely spotless, and his thorough walkthrough made me feel confident and ready for my trip. The RV itself was perfect—plenty of room, comfortable, reasonably priced and everything worked exactly as expected. A few of the days were hot, but the A/C worked like a charm. It also drove incredibly well. My camping trip was in Central Idaho, including the winding stretch between Stanley and Challis. For anyone who has driven that route, you know some spots on the road get very tight, but this rig handled so well that I didn't worry for a single second. I highly recommend renting from David!

Two days before the trip, David, the owner messaged to ask if I wanted the motorhome full of water and if we were going to have hook ups where we were going camping. I replied no we would not have any hook ups and yes, I would like the motorhome full of water. When we arrived to pick up the motorhome two days later, he informed us that the motorhome did not have any propane, but he provided a camp stove. It wasn’t that the rv’s propane was empty it wasn’t working at all. No Propane meant we could not use the stove oven microwave heat air-conditioning and refrigerator unless we were continuously running the generator. He also informed us that the onboard generator did not work, but he did provide a gasoline powered generator, but we were not able to run that 24/7 because we were in a campground that had quiet hours. The generator he provided wasn’t strong enough to run the AC. When we tried it shut the generator down. We couldn’t use the frig or freezer and had to put our food in coolers which we had not planned to do. Luckily we were camping with other family members that had room in their campers for our frozen items and some of our food. All of this was extremely inconvenient and irritating and took time and joy out of our months long planned camp trip with family. If we were camping with full hook ups none of this would have been an issue however that wasn’t the case for us and David knew about these issues and did not list this in the outdoorsy ad (had he we would not have rented this RV) nor did he ask about it or let us know know until we arrived to pick it up. At that point we had no choice but to make due since we couldn’t rent another rv in that moment. The outside of the rv was really beat up and the inside was ok. They had done a lot of DIY projects to update decor but many of those were starting to fail, chip, peel. There was an odd smell that I couldn’t identify until I found what appeared to be dried vomit on the bottom of one of the long curtains that block/give privacy for the upper bed. As we were driving up the mountain the Utensil drawer kept flying open around each curve and the coffee maker mounted under the cabinet came unattached and flew across the camper. The vents in the cab of the rv didn’t work only the vent where the defrost come out worked so ac wasn’t very effective and at the time it was 80-90 degrees on our drive. The rv provides a place to sleep and it was clean for most part. The rv drove well and had good tires. David was very nice when we met him at first. When we got back to town we asked if we could discuss our concerns with him and he said yes but that he wouldn’t be home when we dropped the rv off but he would call us the next day. He said we could tell his wife our concerns too which we did and she took notes for David but told us the rv was something david handles and not her. We explained it all to her and told her we felt like we should be refunded some of the $940 (3 day rental) we paid and hoped they would make it right. She said she would tell David. The next day David was supposed to call us in the afternoon but never did. We reach out again via app and text and he apologized and said a partial refund would be no problem thru the outdoorsy app and that he wasn’t able to call due to work but would call next day at noon. Again nothing. We reached out a 3rd time and still nothing. It was been 8 days since we retuned the rv and we have never gotten a call from David as promised which is very disappointing frustrating and highly unprofessional for a “business” owner. We held off for as long as we could to write a review in the hopes that he would make it right like he said he would. While the rv was fine and had just about everything you would need and only needed to pack your clothes personal items and food, our experience of not having propane and not being told about it or the lack of a working on board generator and the experience after the rv drop off was awful and I would never rent this rv again nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
