1984 Volkswagen Vanagon
This is the van you've been searching for! The ultimate road trip adventure mobile! Get ready to receive high fives, thumbs up, waves, smiles, rubber necks, free beers, and lots of adoration wherever you go in this ultimate camper. This van has been almost everywhere in the states as well as being in multiple brand videos and used for various photo and video shoots in and around Colorado. This is the van used to travel to Monument Valley where action sports photog Dave Lehl shot the now famous photo (part of Red Bull's Illume contest) of me in mid fall (see photo in gallery). Ready to be apart of its next big adventure?
The van sleeps 4 people on two "almost" queen size beds, one below and one on the upper bunk. I include memory foam toppers for each bed to increase the comfort level to stom made blackout blinds make sure you have your privacy when needed and make sleeping in easy. Custom Pendleton wool fabrics keep the mood cozy. You will sleep well! You also have a huge yeti style cooler big enough to hold everything you need kept cool for at least a weeks worth of travel. I Also have smaller coolers available if you'd prefer something easier to move around. A two burner stove and a sink with a 13 GAL water tank make cooking and cleaning a breeze. Updated, fold flat and swiveling front seats provide additional comfort beyond what the 30+ year old originals could offer. Swing them around and face your buddies/kids/ grandparents/doggo's (who knows) for drinks, board games and meals together. Around back the tailgate quickly provides a shower area with two 5 GAL solar heated shower bags and complete privacy to get clean after all that exploration. Up top you have a huge roof top box to help keep the interior clutter free. Lots of cabinets offer room for food and gear storage inside the vehicle as well. The original, extremely inefficient fridge was removed to offer even more storage for all your goodies. If the nights get chilly a custom Webasto heater is installed and is controlled by simply turning the thermostat to your desired heat level. Fresh, warm air is circulated thru the van and all exhaust and intake is outside under the van. clean and comforting. Up front is a new stereo with a USB interface and bluetooth connectivity so you can connect almost any device and listen to your tunes thru the (tiny) premium speakers and custom built subwoofer. An onboard inverter and auxiliary battery power your electronics and run the kitchen gear and heater. If you are in a spot with direct sun its easy to deploy the huge 8X10 ARB awning so you can grill or relax in the shade. Additional add-on's include a thule hitch mounted bike rack for up to 4 bikes and a Goal Zero solar setup to keep you juiced up. The camper will be stocked with all bedding, cooking pots, pans, utensils, portable propane grill/cooktop (propane bottles included) and basic spices and oils. Shower bags will be included along with hatchets, flashlights, headlamps, citronella candles, bug spray, sunblock, bottle openers and almost anything you may need other than the food you bring along, clothes and the slippers on your feet for relaxing in your living room on wheels after a hard day of being awesome. The van is a stick shift/manual transmission so you must be proficient in driving a stick. It's a 4 cylinder 90 HP motor so climbing is slow but highway cruising is easy. Although built for it, off-roading is strictly off limits. Get out there!
