My van camping journey started early with my mom's first VW bus, later she sold that one and... got another VW bus! We spent most of our family time out road tripping and camping around the west. When I went to college in San Diego I built out a minivan and was instantly hooked on the flexibility and fun it provided as an adult. Fast forward eight years and I am still van camping nearly every weekend while running Venturhaus, a full service custom van builder and installation center. Located in Evergreen, Colorado we have grown to be a premier yet community oriented builder in the area. We are new to van camping, so most of our challenges were related to getting to know the systems and organizing ourselves. We had a GREAT time and the best part was the minimal setup+shutdown at the campsites (we're used to car tent camping). Only real improvement would be a tighter collection of little accessories (charging, cooking, eating implements). The weather was very hot and the AC was definitely producing cool air but never seemed to actually cool down the whole van. The open windows by the bed (could have used screens) with the roof ventilation worked really well for a good nights sleep.

Would not recommend. TJ is incredibly hard to get in touch with. This van was built poorly and not worth the money.

TJ was wonderful to work with from start to finish for first timers. He took the time to explain everything to us in detail and we texted him a couple of times on our trip when we had questions. We learned so much and look forward to our next adventure in one of his custom built camper vans.

We had some mixups at the beginning but overall the van was great! We took it up to lake McConaughy and having the outdoor shower to rinse off was perfect. We didn't need the ac at night but it was nice to have during the day, and the awning was nice to have to rest under. There's a ton of storage space as well! There is some rattling on the sliding door panel while you're driving that can get kind of loud, but overall we really enjoyed the rental.
