1This could have been a great trip. Unfortunately, there were several issues in the RV that could have been avoided if the owner had taken a more responsible approach to preparing the RV beforehand. During the initial orientation I was informed that the previous renters were difficult and caused lots of damage and issues that the owner was trying to sort through. First, I was told to be careful because the screen door was broken and the previous renters damaged the awning arm. During our trip, we used the awning once for a couple hours with no issues. After returning the RV, I was informed that there was more damage to the awning arm and it would cost ~$700 to repair (which would come out of my deposit). When I asked to have a quick discussion with the owner at their convenience, I was told they would not make themselves "available" to talk and this matter is closed. I'm still waiting for picture of the alleged "damage" they are claiming to the awning arm. Shortly after departing on this trip (after paying a $475 pre-cleaning fee) we found dirty tissues, garbage, used water bottles and melted crayons around the extendable sofa bed. Then, as soon as we arrived at the campsite we started to fill the kitchen cabinets only to find them littered with ants that we had to clean up. When I attached the sewer hose (provided by the owner) to drain the black water it sprayed a disturbing amount of sewage all over our campsite and picnic table due to numerous holes and cracks in the hose. This required the campsite maintenance crew to sanitize our area with chemicals resulting in several hours of clean up on my part (not to mention horrific odors). When I reached out to the SF Bay Area Private RVs about the garbage and used tissues and the broken sewer hose, they replied back with "Hi, we spoke the owners about this...they cleaned the RV a couple days ago and apparently missed that. They are apologizing. The last renters caused a few issues but that's not an excuse.". The most disappointing issue I have is that my family treated this RV with respect and care and the owner is still not willing to have a civil discussion to talk through it. Very unfortunate and unprofessional. As much as I would have liked to provide a positive referral, I would highly discourage anyone from renting this RV given the owners poor preparation of the RV an unprofessional approach to resolve any of the issues we experience. I would gladly provide a more positive review if the owner would simply address this in a civilized manner and have a discussion with me instead of hiding behind SF Bay Area RVs as the only communication. To the owner of this RV (if you read this), call me and let's talk through this like adults. I have pictures of all of this, but the Outdoorsy site is not allowing these attachments to load. Very disappointed with the owner of this RV and how they handled this situation.
