Betsy is a big, beautiful beast of a van, hand-built by yours truly (and a few very talented and generous friends and family members) in summer 2016. I lived full-time in the van for 2.5 years, making small upgrades along the way. She's not only very functional as an adventure rig, she's quite cozy as well. Below are most of her amenities, but if there's something you're looking for that's not on there, don't hesitate to ask!
- USB and Bluetooth connection to stereo system
- Passenger swivel seat
- Propex HS 2800 Heater located under passenger seat with thermostat reachable from bed (runs off propane and electric)
- Handmade butcher block that folds out into a table
- Full-size mattress
- Three-burner propane stove and oven, plus all the essentials for cooking and a French press for making coffee.
- Window over the kitchen where you can enjoy a beautiful view while you cook; this has two separate panels that open with a mesh interior to allow a cool breeze inside and/or air out cooking smells without letting bugs in
- Two-way fan over the main living area that pulls cool air in or pushes hot air (and accidental smoke from cooking!) and smells out
- Carbon monoxide detector
- Mini fridge
- Solar-power for appliances and outlets
- Tons of lighting, all with built-in switches
- Slider cabinets with plenty of storage
- Custom cedar bench with soft cushion
- Full-size closet with hangers and shoe nook
- Fully stocked kitchen (utensils, spices, oil, pans, plates, bowls, cups)
