Banyans is one of Campervan Hawaii’s staples and is a wonderful van to explore the Big Island in. With its modern European design by Hymer Group in Germany, it has become one of our customers’ favorites. This campervan seats and sleeps 4 (2 adults & 2 children) and features a full kitchen, a bathroom with indoor shower, a queen size bed in the back and a removable front bed. It has an A/C system that can keep you cool all night without having to run the van or generator during the night. You can check this vehicle out on our website to see a list of the basic equipment included with the van.There are a bunch of 12V and 120V outlets throughout the van so you can power pretty much anything you need and it also has tons of storage space for your luggage or toys. We supply this campervan with basic camping equipment but we do charge a per person fee of $9/day which supplies each person with: bedding linens, pillows, beach towels, bath towels, kitchenware, and camp chairs for each person. You can check out what’s included on our website as well as any additional add-ons you might want to add to your reservation.Camping on the Big Island does require you to have a campsite for each night as there is no free camping. Check out the camping page on our website for more information and we will also provide you with our camping and itinerary guide once you book which shows you our recommended spots and how to book them.Our location, 4 miles south of the airport at 73-4195 Hulikoa Drive, is a short drive away. There are taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts readily available to take you there when you arrive.Also, when booking through Outdoorsy’s platform, you will be required to purchase insurance through them even if you have your own insurance that would cover this campervan rental.Thank you for checking out our campervan

Our adventure started off with a clean, well-organized campervan. It was banged up with dents, scratches, broken side window, and broken hinges on the cabinets from previous campers, but we were excited to hit the road. Our contact, Matt, was very knowledgeable, and friendly and offered some good suggestions.

Fabulous perfect trip for me! I’m used to driving large vehicles on narrow twisting rural roads and I’m an introvert who likes to travel alone and camp alone. I also have a lot of experience with small travel trailers so the various accoutrements were familiar to me. If you aren’t used to these things then a how-to video would be helpful. The county parks online reservations made it easy to plan as I went. This camper had absolutely everything I needed except my personal items and food. I’d do it again in a heartbeat! I only gave 4 stars on value because I found no way out of the insurance charge and my own insurance covered the vehicle plus a LOT more. I think having the amount of insurance I already carry should have let me opt out of the extra charge.

Overall good experience. The van has seen better days. Several of the windows don’t open, which is a bummer. The bathroom closes, but not without some finesse.

It was easy to book. We were reminded when payments were due. Our van was ready on time at the airport as promised. It was really fun and a convernient way to see the island. We camped in beautiful, memorable locations which enhanced our trip. They were always responsive to any questions we had. The security deposit was credited quickly after completion of our trip. Beth-Ann was a great communicator! We recommend Campervan Hawaii!

We had an AMAZING adventure. From the time we picked up the van till we dropped it off, we loved it! Now, we're thinking of getting one to use wherever we go.:) We'd highly recommend it as a way to see the island. It's like bringing your hotel room everywhere with you plus more. We would recommend booking on Hipcamps along the island though. Don't believe what you read about being able to just park anywhere. NOT on this van. lol The staff of Outdoorsy are also Super Amazing. They're so easy to communicate with and everybody's very helpful. They made sure our adventure will be smooth and great. We can't thank you enough! Mahalo!

Loved exploring the Big Island by campervan. It was fun and convenient to have everything with you all along the way. We traveled with our two young boys and it was great to make food when we needed to and always have stuff on-hand. We camped at beach parks, a Mac-nut farm and nature park. Great experience! Also, recommend using “Shaka Guide” tour app for your drive.
