Our standard check-in time is 3:00PM. If available, you may be able to checkin sooner for an additional fee of $10/hr should you want your campervan earlier than 3:00PM. Let us know if you would like early check-in and we will try and accommodate you but it is not guaranteed. We are located at 73-4195 Hulikoa Dr which is around 4 miles south of the Kona airport. The best way of getting there is by using a rideshare like Uber or Lyft and alternatively there are taxis but they tend to be more expensive. Once there, we will go over the campervan with you, teach you how to use it, answer any questions you might have and will get you on the road.Camping:

The $9 per person fee must be added by you during checkout. It is the first Add-on. If not added during checkout, then we will automatically add it to your reservation.
When booking through Outdoorsy’s platform, you will be required to purchase insurance through them even if you have your own insurance that would cover this campervan rental.Thank you for checking out our campervan

3The campervan had warning for engine from the beginning and we had difficulty to get out the first campsite due to the poor engine. My husband had to check the level and we had to put coolant the first day as it was under the low limit. We did not used the shower and toilet, honestly you don’t need it, all our campsites were well equipped.

2Our adventure started off with a clean, well-organized campervan. It was banged up with dents, scratches, broken side window, and broken hinges on the cabinets from previous campers, but we were excited to hit the road. Our contact, Matt, was very knowledgeable, and friendly and offered some good suggestions. We quickly realized about 15 miles down the road that the van had some pretty significant engine/powertrain issues. The van had an extremely difficult time making it up a medium-sized hill on the main road. The speed dropped to 19 MPH with the accelerator completely pressed. We quickly pulled over and called our host. We were told that the van was fine and we should continue our trip. We didn't feel comfortable with our plans to drive around the island, which was the reason why we got a mobile place to sleep. So we found a campsite and parked the van. We arranged with another rental company to rent a car to drive around instead. Very disappointing.

5Fabulous perfect trip for me! I’m used to driving large vehicles on narrow twisting rural roads and I’m an introvert who likes to travel alone and camp alone. I also have a lot of experience with small travel trailers so the various accoutrements were familiar to me. If you aren’t used to these things then a how-to video would be helpful. The county parks online reservations made it easy to plan as I went. This camper had absolutely everything I needed except my personal items and food. I’d do it again in a heartbeat! I only gave 4 stars on value because I found no way out of the insurance charge and my own insurance covered the vehicle plus a LOT more. I think having the amount of insurance I already carry should have let me opt out of the extra charge.

4Overall good experience. The van has seen better days. Several of the windows don’t open, which is a bummer. The bathroom closes, but not without some finesse. Bed is super comfy and great for traveling to and from virtually anywhere on the big island. Our favorite stay was at volcanoes national. Beautiful!
