Luxury RV Camping. **100 miles a day Free* 2020 Mercedes Chateau 24DS

We rented two RVs and both RVs ran well and got good gas mileage. The reason I am giving 1 star is what we were charged upon return of the RVs over $2,000 for repairs. For the RV I was driving I was told the cable on the recliner to release the footrest was broken by me. I was charged $517 for the repair. I was told the recliner worked before I took it and found the first time I tried to use it I pulled the cable and it wouldn't release the footrest. Nothing broke, it just simply never worked. I just assumed the footrest didn't work and never tried it again the rest of the trip. Keep in mind, this RV is 8 years old and has had 100 other renters before me and no value was given to the previous wear and tear to this product nor any depreciation of the product over the last 8 years. I was just charged $517 to replace it as if it were brand new and I was the first to use it. I would give careful consideration of renting this as you just don't know what unforeseen expenses will lie ahead for you. In our situation with two RVs it was to the tune of $2k in damages. The Chateau is difficult to use the features when the slides are in. All drawers in bedroom and most in the kitchen are inaccessible due to the slides cover them up when driving. We found many times that we had to find a place to stop to push the slides out to access the drawers to get clothing or kitchen utensils. The View didn't have this same issue the layout of the kitchen and bedroom is much more user friendly. Both myself and my friend that rented the other RV were totally taken by shock to the charges for damages. I felt I took care of the RV as if it were my own RV during the entire time I was in possession. Make sure you do your due diligence in checking over and videoing everything in and around the RV to validate what condition it is in prior to accepting it. This still won't fix the problem I encountered as there may be more parts in these RVs that are teetering on the edge of breaking due to normal wear and tear and it seems if they break on your watch, you will be responsible for the entire bill!!! Be careful!

We had an amazing experience renting from Open Route. My wife and I were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. We went from Vegas to Zion to North Rim and back with a few stops along the way. Tony was great to rent from and even got us custom donuts too! The Winnebago 24J was the perfect machine for us. Large enough for us to be very comfortable but nimble enough to get in a normal parking spot. The Mercedes Benz chassis drove like a dream, the cruise control feature and the comfortable seats, great gas mileage for starters. Everything about it was high quality, very portable and functional. The bed was nice and I love the fact that you could use it with the slide in. Everything just worked like a clock. I would highly recommend renting from Open Route RV.
