Tank is a 2016 Ford Transit converted by yours truly! We lived the digital nomadic lifestyle on the road together for a year. Based on diagrams from FarOutRide, Tank possesses robust systems and a spacious layout. Features include a burly electrical system for both DC and AC needs, custom full-size bed, sink, toilet, heater, accessible camping stove and Jetboil to increase usable counter space, chest fridge, interior bike rack (please check with me), ski, bouldering pad, and gear storage under the bed as well as a surfboard rack over the kitchen, and a beautiful interior comprised of white shiplap walls, reclaimed barnwood ceilings, baltic birch built-ins, and butcher block countertops. This van has already lived the van life dream for me and now is providing others with this memorable and unique experience. I know Tank inside and out. I am familiar with life on the road. If you have any questions, I will most likely have an answer!Technical details for those who care
Electrical
Since working was a top priority during my journey, there are 4 175W solar panels for a total of 700W of output, a burly battery bank of 3 Battle Born batters (300 Ah total), and a 1500W Samlex pure sine wave DC to AC converter. If you find yourself in an area without much sun exposure, no worries, there is also a shore power option as well.
Water
A 20-gallon freshwater tank supplies the kitchen sink with an electric pump and also a shower head in the back. The water pressure is awesome. A 5-gallon greywater tank sits below the sink.
Cooking
I have found a camp stove to be the most effective use of counter space, which is stored in a kitchen drawer along with a jet boil.
Ventilation/Heating
In case heat is needed, a Webasto heater is also installed in the van with a smart thermostat to make sure the interior is always at a comfortable temperature. There is also a ceiling ventilation fan as well as a dedicated adjustable fan mounted to the wall for circulation of airflow.

RecommandationsIt's the PNW y'all! There's so much to do around the area depending on what you're into. Chances are you have ideas. If not, I am more than happy to provide ideas! Are you into climbing? Mountain biking? Surfing? Camping? Hiking? Urban camping? Star gazing? Within a couple of hours of Portland, all of these activities can be found.Climbing
There are plenty of crags locally like Broughton Bluff, Ozone, and Carver within an hour of Portland. Out towards Mount Hood, there is French's Dome, Klinger Springs, Area 51, and Bulo Point. If you want to venture further, Smith Rock out near Bend, OR offers a massive theatre of climbing
Mountain Biking
Not an extensive list, but places I can give some insight on.
Within an hourish: Stubs Stewart State Park, Rocky Point, Yacolt Burn, Sandy Ridge, Post Canyon, Timberline Bike Park
Out a few hours: Bachelor Bike Park, Black Rock, Alsea Falls
There's also heading up north towards Seattle if making a mountain bike road trip out of it--plenty of great biking up there as well
Surfing
I love to surf, but I mostly save that for San Diego tbh. I haven't surfed the Oregon coast much, but Short Sands and Indian Beach are some decent spots.
Camping
A van opens up endless possibilities! Campsites are awesome, but national forest roads can offer some incredible views without neighbors. There are so many areas to camp in OR I'd be happy to assist if you have a destination in mind. I haven't done much camping for the sake of camping in OR, but I have camped plenty while out in pursuit of my other hobbies. Almost every weekend in the summer in fact!
Hiking
Unfortunately, I haven't done much hiking except for climbing approaches! AllTrails is a great app for finding hikes if you don't already have it. You can see other people's reviews, pictures, ratings, and trail metrics like distance, elevation charts, etc.
Urban Camping
Believe it or not, much of van life for me was urban camping in cities like San Diego, Salt Lake, Bozeman, and Portland, or while traveling from one destination to another. While my van doesn't have the flashiest exterior, that is on purpose. Stealth camping is its own art. If you're interested in learning more about this aspect, I have lots of pointers!
Autres points à signalerHave fun and enjoy the ride! Driving a van might seem intimidating to some. I know I was when worried when I was looking to buy a van. After about half an hour in the pilot seat, I was pretty comfortable! Despite the size, it feels like driving a pickup. I will give you a tour of the van upon pickup and answer any questions you may have. Vanning is a unique experience that I highly recommend! Careful though, you may find yourself buying one after your trip.Pets are welcome! Please keep them off the bed though. The bed is decently high off the ground. Unfortunately, if you have mobility issues, this van will not be the ideal van for you.The van does have an outdoor shower. The water is NOT heated.

Heyyyyoooo! My name is Zach, I used to live the van life (in Tank!) and I love to be outdoors! Some of my hobbies include mountain biking, climbing, bouldering, skiing, snowboarding, backcountry skiing, road biking, photography, backpacking, and kiteboarding. I still love to travel and take Tank out most weekends he's available. If he's not, you'll most likely find me in a tent. I love being able to provide people with a great experience! If you have any questions or are looking for things to do, reach out! I may or may not know, but I can certainly ask some of my friends in the latter case.

Zacharius obviously put a ton of thought and energy into building this campervan. It had everything we possibly needed during our week long trip. The bed was super comfy (almost too comfy because we kept wanting to sleep in despite our plans for early morning hikes!). I would highly recommend booking this!

Zach and Tank were great!! Drove up to the Puget Sound. Easy to drive, easy to sleep in!

Thanks for the review Katie! I appreciate it! I believe you two hold the record for hottest hand-off temperature 😅

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
R.
Reach out to me! I have a flexible schedule and I'm sure we can work things out. I also have friends around the country, so if you want to start in Portland and end in another city, it may be an option depending on the destination.

Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
R.
Well, the electric can be hooked up if needed (almost never does because of the crazy amount of solar panels). The water tank can be filled as necessary (I will walk through this in our preflight walkthrough). The sewage, well, it's a compostable toilet. You will most likely never have to worry about the compost section (unless you're renting out Tank for months). The pee container, however, should be watched. I will also go through this.

Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
R.
Tank is surprisingly easy to operate. The only challenging aspect of driving a 21' vehicle can be finding parking in busy downtown areas. I usually don't have too many issues.
