Welcome to Pamplemousse! She’s our 2017 Ford Transit, lovingly handmade here in Squamish. We designed her for exploring BC and beyond and getting into the wild in style. Whether this is a once in a lifetime trip, a go at something new or a test of whether you suit ‘van life’, we’ve listed all of Pamplemousse’s key features to help ensure you’ve picked the right vehicle for your trip.- Living:
The main living space inside Pamplemousse has been kept as open as possible. Sometimes we want to store extra things, give a friend a lift with their bike or stretch out on the floor whatever we fancy! This area allows us to be adaptable. The swivelling passenger seat, lagun-style table and box seat also create a comfortable dining area for meals.
-Cooking:
The kitchen unit has a large prep area and sink with running water, plus drawers full of all the cooking essentials. We have made some banging meals with this set-up and hope you do too! There is a 2 burner stove that can be used inside or taken wherever else you want to cook. A 40L fridge can be found in the big wooden seat.
- Water:
This one is simple - a fresh water and grey water tank are located in the cupboard under the sink. Both are 20L. The fresh water tank is hooked up to the sink with an electric pump for operation.
-Sleeping:
A fixed bed means no assembling your bed every night! A feature that we love about Pamplemousse. The mattress is super comfy, 60” wide and 72” long (apologies to the tall folk!). A full set of bedding will be provided, including a down duvet to keep you toasty warm in the winter and flat sheet to keep you cool in the summer.
- Power:
Pamplemousse will keep you charged and ready for fun with her 2x100Ah leisure batteries. These can be topped up either by the DC charger whilst you’re on the move or the 100W solar panel on the roof. There’s a 1000W inverter for any socket powered electrical items and USB sockets in the reading lights above the bed.
-Storage:
The largest storage area is found under the bed, we’ve kept this space open to allow for the various gear that fuels adventures. There are 2 bike mounts if needed. Other storage around the van includes; small shelves above the foot of the bed; a wardrobe with hanging rail on top and cubby hole below; finally, two cupboards above the side window.
-Heating, Cooling and Ventilation:
There is a MaxxAir fan in the roof above the bed, for keeping cool, along with two opening, hinge-style windows in the living area. The windows also come with inbuilt bug nets and blinds. Any chillier days can be made toasty warm with a 5kW diesel heater.
Autres points à signalerPets:
Furry friends are welcome to join on your trip, we just ask that they don’t go on the bed.
Smoking:
We love that Canada has more relaxed laws than elsewhere in the world but we ask that no smoking of any kind is done inside the van. Thank you for your understanding.

Règles et politiques
• The van is rear wheel drive and not very high clearance so taking her off-road is not advised. There are some forest service roads (FSRs) that it can handle and we would be happy to share these with you when you rent the vehicle. • When driving on rough terrain (such as FSRs), a recommended speed is 20-25 km/h, for maximum comfort. It's a campervan, best to slow down and enjoy the views. Definitely don't exceed 40km/h. • When going down hill (especially steep ones) it is recommended to use the manual mode on the van to select lower engine gears and avoid using the brakes. This will reduce the likelihood of overheating and brake issues that could ruin your trip, which we don't want!

Hi I'm Eve, originally from the UK but living in Squamish now. It was always a dream of mine to build a campervan and go and explore, so I put my engineering skills to good use and created Pamplemousse. I mainly use her to explore new mountain biking sports but I also love a good old fashioned road trip or a trip to the island for a cheeky surf sesh. Very happy to give recommendations for your adventures to help you make the most of what BC has to offer.
