5Great communicators, sets expectations well, and top notch customer service. Carplay and the fresh water sensor didn't work in the van we rented but we had easy workarounds. -- this rest of this comment is not for Steven but the general experience with Outdoorsy. Hopefully to help any first time renter. 1. Over communicate with your host. I initially picked one that had instant booking and assumed everything was fine but days before the trip, the host cancelled. Steven's RV saved us from completely changing our plans 2. If you're flying in to the city where you're renting the van and want to get going ASAP, talk to your host. Some listings don't specify pick up times. Ex: You can rent for X - Y dates but can't pick up until 6pm. That's tough when you want to make the most out of your holiday. Steven had it in his listing and has a $200 add on fee if you pick up before 6pm. 3. Get a copy of the inventory sheet if you can. I was in a rush to leave and didn't bother. At the final billing, I got charged for "missing" items. Thankfully, Steven is an honest businessman and removed it after confirming we weren't provided it in the first place. 4. Like airbnb, fees can add up. Do you math exhaustively when comparing different rentals so you can budget accordingly. He has a 3 night minimum but Labor Day weekend only afforded us 2 nights so I knowingly booked an extra day I couldn't use. Then added the $200 early pick up, and $175 hassle free drop off. Lastly, SLC to Arches NP is so far, we went over the 100/mile budget so that's another added cost. 5. Don't forget to calculate gas in your budget. 10mpg is apparently great for RV standards but still costly
