Frequently asked questions
Q.
Who (or what) is Dommy?
R.
Dommy is our delightful little Subaru Domingo—a vintage Japanese micro van with loads of personality. He’s been converted into a clever camper setup perfect for cruising around the island, camping under the stars, or even showing up in style at a wedding. With his retro vibes, slide-out kitchen, and surprisingly roomy interior, Dommy is ready for adventure.
Q.
Where do I pick up and drop off Dommy?
R.
Pickups and drop-offs are at our spot in Victoria, BC—easy to access and close to the city. If you’re arriving by plane or ferry, we also offer deliveries and drop offs to the airport, ferry terminals, or just about anywhere else nearby. Let us know what works for you and we’ll make it happen!
Q.
Is Dommy easy to drive?
R.
Yes! Dommy is compact and right-hand drive, but don’t worry—it’s automatic and very intuitive. Most drivers get the hang of it quickly. Plus, Dommy’s small size makes it a breeze to park, navigate forest roads, and load onto BC Ferries.
Q.
How far can I drive each day?
R.
Dommy includes 200 km per day, which is plenty for exploring Vancouver Island and the surrounding Gulf Islands. If you think you’ll need more, we offer extra kilometres for a small additional charge—just let us know and we’ll sort it out.
