*This is a Stationary Rental Only, on our property. You come and stay like you would in an Airbnb. Maximum rental period is 7 days. For your protection and ours, we recommend selecting Outdoorsy's "Peace of Mind" protection package during checkout.High-end, tastefully decorated and fully equipped camper, nestled on 2.5 acres in a quiet rural neighborhood. Although the camper is situated just beside our home, it’s tucked beneath the trees in its own little woodland nook, offering a peaceful retreat. Relax under the lighted gazebo, play a round of yard games, or gather around the smokeless firepit. Cozy and compact, at 275 sf, it may not be the best fit for everyone. Perfect for a solo retreat or couple’s escape.Our cozy camper is fully equipped with everything you will need. It's parked next to our home, but is tucked under the trees and feels private. The bedroom has a queen bed. NO smoking or vaping inside the camper or anywhere on the property. NO pets. NO parties. NO discharging of firearms. NO candles in the camper. Violation of the rules will result in a $500 fine and immediate cancellation of your stay. We have two dogs, but they are in the white fenced in area and are very friendly. There are flower beds, flowering trees, bushes and wildflowers scattered among the property. If you come at the right time of year, you'll see all the beautiful blooms. We also have wild blackberries, blueberry bushes and scuppernong vines. Feel free to forage on those while you're with us. The gazebo, down the hill from the house, offers a wonderful place to eat, read, drink coffee or play games. We have many games on hand for you to play that are sure to keep you laughing. The smokeless firepit is perfect for those chilly nights.Staying in a camper is a truly unique experience! It’s cozy, compact, and thoughtfully designed for comfort, but it’s also a little different from staying in a traditional house. We want you to know exactly what to expect so you can relax and enjoy every moment of your stay.The Gray Fern has all the essentials in a smartly designed space, but it is more compact than a typical home. It’s comfortable for most guests who appreciate small-space living, but it may not be the best fit for those who prefer extra room to spread out.Because campers function a bit differently, here are a few things to keep in mind:Toilet: Camper toilets are different from standard ones and require special care. (instructions are provided)Propane stove: The stovetop uses propane, so it lights differently than a typical kitchen range. Please use the vent fan when cooking and turn knobs fully off after use. (instructions are provided)Water heater: The water heater is small, so showers are best kept short to ensure warm water for everyone.Water & Tanks: Since the camper isn’t connected to a full sewer line, all sink, shower, and toilet water goes into holding tanks (called “black” and “gray” tanks). These tanks have limited capacity, so please help us conserve water so they don’t fill up too quickly:

Turn water off while soaping up, brushing teeth, or doing dishes.
If the tanks fill up during your stay, water will stop draining and the toilet can’t be used until they’re emptied. If this happens, please notify us immediately so that we can empty the tanks to avoid them leaking and flooding the camper.A/C units: The air conditioning works well but can be a bit louder than a home system. Many guests like to treat it as “white noise”, with many saying they love the sound of it while sleeping.Power & Space: Storage and outlets are limited. If you plan to use multiple high‑draw appliances (hair tools, griddle, etc.), it’s best to run them one at a time.We’ve included clear instructions for everything in your guest guidebook, and we’re always just a message away and are on-site, if you have questions.We want you to have a wonderful stay and know exactly what to expect. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak in the summer, launch your boat or fish year round. There's also a fantastic park with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill. We are 10 minutes from Lake Jordan and 30 from Lake Martin. Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 15 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails. Just 10 minutes north of us is Swayback Bridge. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and does over Lake Jordan. There are many festivals that happen throughout the year in our cute little town, including the Mardi Gras Festival and Galentine's in Feb., Coosa Palooza Brewfest in April, the River and Blues Music and Arts Festival in July, the Coosa Candy Crawl in Oct., and Christmas on the Coosa in Dec. Wind Creek Casino is only 6 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming.
